The weather was perfect at the 11th Annual Melbourne Art Festival 5K Flamingo Run enticing nearly 500 runners to turn out for the event. Spectators also turned out and lined the race course to cheer the runners on. Sponsored exclusively by Health First Pro-Health & Fitness Center, the run was held at 8:00 on Saturday morning, April 25th 1998. The eastbound lane of the Melbourne Causeway was blocked off allowing runners unobstructed access to the causeway as they ran over the Indian River on what turned out to be a splendid day for a race. Following the race, was a mouth watering array of fresh fruits, breads, and juices as well as therapeutic massage services. It is clear this race is turning out to be one of the premier race events along the Space Coast! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=- Melbourne Art Festival 8K Melbourne, FL 25 April 1998 Submitted by Harold J.
