Eye of the Dragon - January 28, 1990 Melbourne, Fl Race Results - Revels & Borell Eye of the Dragon: Although several changes this year caused some confusion, Dick DeHoyos is to be commended for the excellent job he did in his first outing as a race director. I'm sure we can expect the bugs to be worked out when he returns next year. Modifications to the start and first turn around added to the difficulty of the course, but once again it was the bridge that separated the well trained from the slackers. The 20 minute delay allowed the temperature to rise, but a steady breeze and late cloud cover kept it from getting unreasonable. This year's tee-shirt featured the classic Eye of the Dragon design on a white background. As should be expected after victories in all previous Runner of the Year races, Doug Butler and Delight Chambers-Abreu left their competition behind. Doug Butler won this year's race with a 33:58. Bill McCord finished second overall with a time of 34:25 and was followed closely by Michael Brisbois in 34:45. Delight ran a 39:50, over a minute faster than last years time set by Nancy Huy who finished second this year in 42:34. Rebecca Sparks was the third female overall with a time of 43:53.
