Jim Farrior 62:30 *** *** *** Dick Whitmore found that his Florida heat training paid off when the weather turned unseasonably warm in Portland, Oregon the end of September. He finished the Portland Marathon, his first of the season, in 3:11, passing many fading North Westerners on the way. *** *** *** Janice Johnson finished the long course of the Great Clermont Triathlon in Clermont, Fl on October 6th in just over 7 hours. That was a 1.2 mile swim followed by 56 miles on the bicycle, and then a half marathon!! Congratulations Janice! *** *** *** Bob Hogan was one of the 1,000s of finishers in the 1985 New York City Marathon. Like mid-race leader Ahmed Salah, he was slowed from his early blazing pace by cramps in the last few miles. (Unlike the former, there was no Mercedes on the line! ) Submitted by Don Dore Jr. on Apr. 15, 2008 erdyoga at bellsouth dot net
