Run For The Dogs 5K - August 24, 1990

The Fifth Annual Run For The Dogs fun run and picnic was a success again in spite of the wet      
conditions. There was a good turn out of runners taking advantage of the cooler weather (95 finishers)      
in this years race, which was held Friday night August 24 in Melbourne Beach.      
The late afternoon monsoon changed to a light sprinkle for the run and although the picnic area      
got soaked, there was no rain for the eating portion of the evening. All those attended appeared to have       
a good time. All entrants and helpers received a custom Run for the Dog towel or mug. The towels were      
particularly appealing for those whishing to dry off  from the rain. The cookout was well stocked with      
hotdogs drinks, chips, desserts, and other goodies. With plenty for all and even some left over. The bugs       
were gracious enough to let us have the band shell in relative peace and quiet. -- George Revels
