New Year's Run: In anticipation of a New Year and the start of running in a new year/         
decade, 32 runners showed up at Spessard Holland Park Community Building in Melbourne         
Beach with an enthusiastic attitude to run this year's (last year's?) annual race.         
Conditions were good; the weather was comfortable (windy but cool) and the number of         
revelers were down from last year. The course was well marked along both the north and south         
out and back sections. The post race party had soda, fruit punch, munchies and doughnuts. And          
the club signed up several new members (Welcome to you all). Jane Sondericker, who's all but         
recovered from a nasty injury, was there to bike it and eagerly anticipates her return to running         
with the arrival of 1990. - DWB
