I knew Angela Saldana wanted to go also, and since I could now take two passengers, I called her house at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. Mr. Saldana, asleep I am sure, answered the telephone, and turned the telephone over to Angela. Angela was happy to have a ride. We later learned that Mr. Saldana is a non-runner, and turning the telephone over to his wife remarked, "It's one of THEM" Very good, Mr. Sadana, very good! Sincerely, Harold J. Tucker CONGRATULATIONS & GET WELL WISHES! Cindy and Tracey More made it to onto the front page of the TODAY paper in April, but it was not because of their running accomplishments (no one gets front page billing for running). To get into the paper, Cindy had to smash her car into a crane at night on I-95 and wind up in Holmes Regional Medical Center with a broken jaw and a broken leg. The accident occurred just two days prior to the date that she and Tracey were to be married. Undaunted by adversity , Tracey arranged for their wedding to take place as scheduled in the hospital and it was this rare hospital wedding that caught the news- paper's attention. We are pleased to report that Cindy is out of the hospital now and recuperating at home, and although they have been married for a month she has not had the opportunity to yell at Tracey once because her jaw is wired shut. All of SCR sends them best wishes and hopes that Cindy gets better soon. BOSTON MARATHON NEWS We have information on one SCR participant in the 1982 Boston Marathon, held April 19. Were there more? WE won't know unless you send your results to Fred Tucker. This SCR competitor, who never fails to qualify for or miss the prestigious Boston event, reports that this year's marathon was made doubly challenging because plastic drink cups were used for the first time. This meant that the surface of the road was paved with the discarded, non-collapsible cups and sticky orange peels of the 2,702 marathoners who proceeded him. Bob Hogan finished the 26.2-mile course with a time of 3:08:02, which gave him an overall rank of 2,703 out of 4,561 (men) and 488th place in the 40-49 category (1,538 in his age group).
